What is CBD?
CBD or Cannabidiol, derives directly from the hemp plant. CBD is a non-psychoactive component of the hemp plant, unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) – so you won’t get high!
CBD has a multitude of health benefits:
- Reducing anxiety
- Helping with insomnia
- Help control chronic pain (under research)
- And we find it helps us focus!
Is CBD addictive?
According to the World Health Organisation CBD does not appear to be addictive and could have benefits which offer the opposite effect!
Endocannabinoids are similar to cannabinoids, they’re just made by our own bodies. The endocannabinoid system appears to regulate lots of important processes in the body and when it’s working optimally it makes you feel balanced – affecting mood, memory & sleep as well as things that impact health including inflammation, cardiovascular, liver function and the reproductive system. The endocannabinoid system is active in your body even if you don’t take any additional cannabinoid supplements e.g. CBD.
