WHAT IS CBD COFFEE?

WHAT IS CBD COFFEE?

Espresso, pour over, French press, cafetiere or coldbrew - we’re a generation of coffee lovers, with the UK drinking an average 95 million cups of coffee a day! 65% of our coffee consumption is at home, which means we have a great opportunity to explore different types of coffee or coffee ingredients! But, have you ever tried CBD coffee?

CBD, or Cannabidiol, has become increasingly popular in the past few years and is now available in a  variety of formats including CBD oils, vapes, gummies or CBD drinks, like ours. CBD is a derivative of the cannabis plant - but don’t worry, CBD does not get you high. It does not include the psychoactive compound THC and rather gives you feelings of balance, calm and focus. So, we think it’s a great ingredient to combine with your daily brew to add some positive benefits to your day.

Can you put CBD in coffee?

Yes! CBD is a non psychoactive compound that won’t make you become intoxicated or high, so it’s safe to drink INTUNE and drive or mix with caffeine! The maximum recommended daily CBD intake in the UK is 70mg.

However, some people are on the fence about adding CBD, a relaxant, to coffee, a stimulant. It’s possible that they dull the effects of each other. But others report that CBD reduces the ‘jittery’ effect of coffee while still providing the energy kick from caffeine. We think it’s always best to try it out for yourself to see what benefits you feel, as everyone’s endocannabinoid system is different and reacts differently to CBD.

How do I add CBD to coffee?

The most common way to add CBD to your coffee is with CBD Oil. An oil can simply be added to your favourite coffee once it’s ready and sipped straight away. Some hardcore CBD coffee fans also infuse their coffee beans with CBD before brewing. It’s recommended to take between 10-20mg in your coffee to enjoy the benefits of CBD.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD Oil is a combination of CBD with a carrier oil, such as MCT oil. It can be digested, popped under the tongue, used topically or inhaled. Like our CBD drinks, it doesn’t contain enough THC (under 0.2%) to cause any intoxicating effects and is safe and legal to use in the UK.

However, we wouldn’t be INTUNE if we didn’t give you a recommendation for a CBD coffee cocktail!

Have you ever tried a Red Velvet? This refreshing cocktail is a great option for people who need an energy kick on a night out! Red Velvet is a rich and decadent drink with bold flavours and silky undertones. Bitter aromatic coffee and chocolate develop into notes of black forest gateaux and sour cherries.

To conclude, the combination of CBD and coffee is one that not only tastes amazing but also can provide benefits from both of these wonder-plants. Our CBD drinks’ effects include a feeling of focus, balance and calm without any intoxication or a high, which means they’re perfect to combine with coffee in a drink such as our take on an Espresso Tonic!
